What a lesson looks like
You meet your coach at the parking lot and pick out a board. Before you get in the water, your coach walks you through the basic technique on the sand. Then you go in together — your coach teaches you how to read the water and how to pop up, and once you're riding waves, works with you on balance, style and comfort.

How much do surf lessons cost in Nosara?
A private lesson is $115, a semi-private for two is $170, and a group of up to four people with two coaches is $340. A kids lesson is $100. Prices are in US dollars and include the 13% tax — nothing is added at checkout.
What time are surf lessons at Playa Guiones?
Any daylight time on the booking calendar. For kids and first-timers we recommend the hours around low tide — the easiest water — and the conditions page marks that window in green for each day.
What's included in a surf lesson?
The board, a rash guard and sunscreen. Every lesson also comes with a phone clip of your session, sent by WhatsApp the same day. You bring a swimsuit, a towel and water.
Where is your surf school located?
We're a mobile school — there's no shop. We meet you at one of Playa Guiones's three beach accesses: North, Main or Bakers. Your booking confirmation tells you which one and where to park.
What happens during the 90 minutes?
You meet your coach at the parking lot and pick out a board, and your coach covers the basic technique before you get in the water. About an hour of the lesson is in the water, where your coach teaches you to read the waves, pop up, and ride.
What if the conditions are bad on the day of my lesson?
If you or the coach judge the conditions unsafe, the lesson is rescheduled or refunded in full.
What's the cancellation policy?
A cancellation 48 hours or more before the start gets a full refund; 24 to 48 hours before, a 50% refund; under 24 hours, no refund. A refund returns the price you paid less the card or Venmo fee, which the processor keeps.
